GOING BACK TO THE PAST

I have had the most delightful time yesterday and today with my granddaughters DeLaney and Angelica. We have been watching home videos from long ago. They are getting such a kick of seeing what their moms and dads, grandmother and grandfather and aunts and uncles looked like 16 years ago. I tell you, we laughed until our sides ached. They saw themselves in the hospital after they were born, coming home, first birthdays and many other things that were in their lives. I was glad and at the same time sad to see my wife Andie when she was healthy and cancer free. I just wish she was here to have watched to videos with us. In this way she will always be with us. The kids also got a chance to see their great grandmother whom they thought was beautiful and looked like a kind Lady, which she was. All these things put together made for a great time.
I would like to invite you to link to my other blog which is http://ladyandie.blogspot.com.
Thank you.

HANDS UP - WHATS IN THE KEG

The town of Wausau, Wisconsin was the scene of many cars lining the street and a house full of young people singing and dancing, having a good time. The police came to break it up and make several arrests for underage drinking. Yes drinking was going on, the police gave several teens a breath test but much to their surprise, not one tested positive for alcohol. The police were stunned. They had to taste what was in the keg and much to their surprise it was ROOT BEER. The party was held by a high school student that wanted to show that teens don't always drink alcohol at their parties. My hat is off to these teens. Good job.

FOR WANT OF AN OREO

This little story comes from Salisbury, Conn.. It seem that the police stopped a young man for speeding through a small town in Conn. The young man stated to the police that he was in the midst of trying to fish a Oreo cookie out of a glass of milk that had slipped out of his fingers and in the process of doing this he lost control of his car. Next time he should first put the cookie between his teeth and then lower his head to dunk it in the milk then throw his head back and using his tongue slip the cookie into his mouth. Come to think of it, that might work either. Maybe he should just wait until he gets home.

EATING OUT BUFFET STYLE

Angelica and I went out to eat tonite at the Old Country Buffet. For the two of us it was $16.95 which is about normal I guess. Can't say there wasn't enough food. I really loved the fried chicken, yum, yum. Everything was good. The only gripe I have is that there was a limited amount of sugar free items. Sugar free yogurt and a lime fluff, didn't see anything else. When I went to the Golden Coral last week they had several sugar free items for diabetics. They had a blueberry pie that was just out of this world. Old Country Buffet should go over there and take a peek and spice up their sugar free items.

SILLY STRING AND AIDDIN

Easter brings all sorts of things in the Easter basket, jelly beans, chocolate rabbits and eggs, cheap toys, expensive toys and the best of all silly string. That is what my grandsons Aiddin and Spencer got in their basket along with all of the other goodies. One problem. The family started spraying this silly string and for some reason every time Aiddin got sprayed he threw up. So Spencer and mom were chasing Aiddin to spray him, he threw up, dog following Aiddin to see what he had left him, mom gaging and throwing up watching the dog make his choice and Spencer behind mom gaging watching mom do her thing. You would probably call this the cheap version of the Easter Parade.

I'M GOING TO SUE!!!!!!!!

This happened in New York. They sue for everything there. A businessman was in a establishment where he incurred an injury to the face inflicted by an employee. If he's married he is going to have to explain to his wife that he got the injury to his face from a stripper who swiveled and caught his face with the heel of her shoe as she was giving him a lap dance. Can you sue for that? Only in America.

WISH I WERE THERE

Today is my grandson, Aiddin's birthday. Today is the real day but they had the party for him yesterday. The reason I say I wish I were there is because he lives in Shiner, Texas which is, according to AAA, 1234 miles from my home and you can't drive it in a couple of hours and I'm to dang old to drive straight through. They had his other grandma and grandpa there along with other family members and friends. The kids played games and ate while the adults tipped a few brews and enjoyed the weather of 84 degrees while I sat here in 36 degree weather. When it came time for cake, the candles were lit, Aiddin was up on a chair leaning across the table to get a good line at blowing out the candles. Grandma was there repeatedly telling him, blow Aiddin blow. This somehow got to him and the smile that was once on his face disappeared. With a glare toward grandma he took a handful of frosting and pitched it at her. She got it full throttle smack dab in the middle of her blouse. She didn't think is was fully but the rest of the crowd were in stitches. Kids will be kids and boys will be boys. Happy Birthday Aiddin.

BANG-DANAS ARE HERE!!!!!!!

This is not an advertisement. Just like you I asked myself, what is a bang-dana. I know that if my wife were here and one of the times she lost her hair to chemo, she would have loved one. It seems that Mary Donley is the inventor of this wonderful creation. When Mary's sister was diagnosed with cancer, Mary knew she would be losing her hair, so being a retired hairdresser and a retired nurse who had been sewing for 52 years came up with the idea of making "bang-danas" with hair and puffiness on top to simulate a full head of hair hiding underneath the bang-dana. This is a wonderful idea and I wish her a lot of luck in her venture. If you are interested about this item you can reach them at the following website, meanwhilebymary.com or call (765)563-0050 or617-7434. The name of the company of Meanwhile by Mary. They make individually handmade alternatives to a wig. I checked out this site and it's real and unique.

GET WHAT?

This bit of information comes from the Oregon Urology Institute. If you are one of the millions of guys who sit in front of the television set during college basketball's March Madness, get a VASECTOMY. Yes I said vasectomy. If you are thinking about getting one do it the day before the basketball games start because it will take two to four days to recover from the procedure. The Institute Administrator reserved a dozen appointment slots for March 19, the day before the NCAA Tournament. He said 15 slots were filled by Thursday afternoon. That sounds like a good deal. This way the wife or girlfriend won't be bugging you to do things around the house or apartment. Just say doctor's orders, I have to take it easy.

NO FRENCH KISSING

In today's paper I came across a article about French kissing. It seems that a law has been put into effect that would require any adult who French kiss a child younger than 13 years of age to register as a sex offender. Should you kiss a child using your tongue you would be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and a $2500.00 fine. The bill now goes to the Governor who says he supports the legislation. Now they should look into other things that would require such action. If they put their mind to it I'm sure they would come up with something. Did I mention this law is effective in Virginia.

THE AMISH COOK

I'd like to let you know about a delightful column that I look forward to reading Wednesday in my local newspaper, The Times, formerly the Hammond Times. Getting back to the column, being a guy I never thought I would be reading a column in the food section especially about a Amish family, their ups and downs, moving from one place to another and their traditions. Every week Iovina Eicher tells of what went on in the life of her family, sisters, brothers and everyone else that makes up her family. But the added attraction to this article is the Amish recipes she provides. One day I just might try one and that may be today. Today's recipe it a cinnamon coffee cake which sounds yummy. I hope you will look in your paper's food section to see if this column is available to you. If not you can visit this column at www.amishcookonline.com. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
