WAITING IN LINE-ICE CREAM

Wal-Mart keeps saying how wonderful they are. Right?  Well, last Saturday my granddaughter and I went there around 10:30 p.m. we got what we went there for and as usual walked around browsing.  Some time later we thought we should leave.  We walked to the front of the store and what a surprise, there were three registers open and at least 10-15 people in each line.  Of course we looked for the shortest line and of course they were all long.  I thought it was a policy the if there are several people in one line they opened another.  I guess I was wrong!  Some people in the line we chose had few items but some needed price checks, debit card didn't work or whatever could to wrong did.  Murphy's Law right?  All we needed were four items and it took a little more that 45 minutes, standing in line and getting out the door.

After the Wal-Mart ordeal I thought we would treat ourselves to some ice cream at a place called the Sweet Frog.  The have several flavors of custard, you fill up either small, med or large and add some of the toppings available, put it on a scale to be weighed, that was a real shocker, $18.92 for our choices, I tell you I really enjoyed that ice cream and savored the flavors for over an hour.  By the time we finished it was time for bed. The next morning the first thing out of her mouth was "can we go to Sweet Frog again tonight " and you know what, we did go back that night.  Good stuff.

IT'S OVER AND NEW HAS STARTED

2014 is finally over, thank God, and a new year, 2015 has begun.  I hope that your 2014 was much better than mine and that my 2015 will be much better than 2014.

Nothing has changed, still wake up every morning with my head spinning with all of the problems that await this day and every day.  The big  cause, which I am sure is a part of your day, is MONEY. Where is it going to come from.  I have been looking for a job, but who is going to hire a 74 year old man with cancer.  NONE.  Social Security doesn't go very far as some of you might know.  Well I guess all I can do like the rest of you in this situation is hope and pray.  Life must go on.

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT.

It is now 5:00 a.m. and a thought comes to my mind.  How many kids are up wak opening gifts that were left by Santa and Christmas wrap scattered about the living room or recreation room.  How many are pestering the elders to help assemble their treasures while mom or dad are sitting cross-eyed with only a few hours of sleep from a Christmas Eve party they had at their home.  Perhaps hung over or better yet still full of what they drank just a few hours ago.  Holding instructions in front of them and trying to focus to make the words clearer. The never ending phrase coming from the child of "hurry I need it put together now!".  Then again how many of Santa's treasures are now broken and set aside for mom or dad to fix it later on. 

For those who's children are still sleeping and will awake in a few more hours, and parents still sleeping because they were good, had little to drink and went to bed early in anticipation of the early rise of the children wanting to see what the bearded, red suited man and his reindeer brought for them on this long awaited day in December.

Lets not forget what this day is really about. It is about a child born in a manger who is now our Lord, Jesus Christ.  It is his birthday and we should never forget that even with all of the tensions in this world and in our own country.

THE DAY AFTER

The day after what?  The day after Thanksgiving that's what.  The day everyone is up bright and early to stand in line for an hour or two waiting for the doors of the all the stores that have the best deals, if you can get to them, of appliances, toys, clothes or whatever else you are looking for to make someone's Christmas extra special.  People must like the pushing and shoving during this time because year after year they show up,  They get the newspapers the day before and plan their moves along with partners of as many as six people who will dash and get items for each other and meet at a designated location within that store just to make sure they  got everything they went for.

Then there is the problem as to how to get it all in the car or van.  Some time two or three vehicles are needed to carry the haul.  Once the cars or vans are loaded the question is, is there enough room for the shoppers.  Room is usually made to accommodate all shoppers in the group.

It is now time for refreshment of either breakfast and coffee or lunch at their favorite bar and grill.  After this it is home to hide their goodies to be wrapped at a later time, and time for the shoppers to sneak off to bed for a well earned nap.

BIG BUSINESS HITS US FOR THE HOLIDAY.

On the new it was said that the gas prices would be going down for the holiday.  Yes they did come down late last week and over the weekend but wouldn't you know it with the approaching holiday (THANKSGIVING) the gas companies said to themselves "a lot of people will be traveling this Thursday, lets raise the price of gas " and that is just what they did.  I don't know about your area, but in mine the price went up 1cents a gallon.  I hope you all filled up before the price hike.  Maybe this increase will keep some folks from visiting their families and friends or even shopping on  Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday.  If that happens you will surely hear the store owners complain to high Heaven that their projected profits for the Christmas season will be WAY DOWN.  Frankly WHO CARES.  That money they earn certainly will not go into my pocket or yours. 

With that being said, I would like to take this time to wish you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!

HAVING A STRESS TEST

Being the ripe old age of 74, my doctor has decided that I need a stress test and that is because I have never had one in my life. 

I understood that there are two kinds of stress tests.  One is where you walk, run whatever on a walking - running machine that really works the crap out of you (no thanks), the second being a chemical induced stress on your heart where you are injected with nuclear fluid once, sit in the Dr. waiting room for approx. 45 minutes.  Then they take pictures of your heart which takes 15 minutes and they see if your blood is flowing OK through your veins.  The second part of this test is when they hook you up to a heart monitor and then inject you with more nuclear fluid.  This one opens all your veins  and is like having an EKG  You may get dizzy, warm, stomach may feel full, chest might get tight and so on.  This lasts for about 30 seconds.  When done you are given a cup of coffee to help flush your system.  Go back to the waiting room and sit for another 30 minutes at which point you have more pictures taken to see how the flow of blood is when the veins are open, at that point you are give the OK to leave. 

I tell you that if I had to have another, it would be the chemical stress test.  Not bad at all.

WHERE HAVE THEY ALL GONE?

Where have they all gone.   In reference to that I refer to all the beautiful colorful flowers that scent the air throughout the summer days, the leaves of various shapes and colors that supply shade to us on hot days, the many birds with their beautiful colors and songs to serenade us as we take time to sit and listen, the sound of children running and laughing as they play games that I played as a child. 
As summer leaves us so do all these things only to be replaced by early darkness and weather that is far from summer like,  snow that will keep us in doors thinking of spring and summer to once again return.

WHO IS LOOKING FOR A JOB????????

If you are one of hundreds and hundreds of thousands wrecking your fingers on the computer or driving from one place to another or even  walking from place to place, you know how frustrating a job search can be.
After putting out an endless stream of resumes and sitting waiting for the phone to ring that brings you that ever waited for  (1) PHONE INTERVIEW which leads to (2) a face to face interview which leads to the ever cherished (3) interview where you meet the people YOU MAY work with. After being praised for your accomplished feats in the industry which you are looking for a position,. you are told that "YOU WOULD FIT IN PERFECTLY" and there might be another interview to meet the  uppity ups who will make a final decision. You leave with a big smile on your face  and a bounce in your step. Two or three days later you get that call to come back and tell you it's time to meet the big boys. After that interview you are told they loved you and you probably have the job.
Sitting at home you play the waiting game. One day goes by with a second to follow, that turns into a week and then two. You call and are told your still in the running, sit tight. Now three weeks pass and then a month, then two. You go back online to find that the job is still posted out there.
Who does this sort of thing. Well lets see. Prudential, Blue Cross Blue Shield and other large companies who think it's a game and people who have lost their unemployment and have no income because they don't qualify for any assistance can wait and wait for them to move their ass.
Keep in mind BIG COMPANIES - WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND.

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT.

Who has been watching America's Got Talent? I have been watching it from the beginning. I have seen good acts come and go. I think that the acts that made it to the finale were the one's that need to be there except for the DOGS. You can go to any circus and see the same thing. They my friends ARE NOT A MILLION DOLLAR ACT.  What else can they do beside walk on their hind legs, push a ball, jump through hoops etc.  Would you pay to go see them in Vegas?  I WOULD NOT.
I must say that those AMERICANS that voted for the dogs must have been on drugs or had their heads up their ass.  Tom Cotter, the comedian was great as was the musician who made instruments. I am very upset that the dogs were chosen. Of course Sharon loved them because she has several dogs in her home that think everything in the house is to be peed or crapped on. 
What a joke.

DOES ANYONE CARE?

If you live in the Chicago land area I'm sure that there are things that you get tired of hearing about.  I have two that I could care less about. One is the Drew Peterson trial. How much is it costing the people to keep this this going.  TOO DAMN MUCH.  The second thing is Jessie Jackson Jr. He is in deep depression and is Bi Polar.  Well Jessie who isn't. Especially all those who are out of work and the loss of unemployment payments. 
The news media should get real and cover other stories that the people really care about.

DAD TAKES KIDS FOR A RIDE!

A man in Fort Wayne Indiana wanted to take his kids for a car ride, ages 4 to 7. Of course they accepted the offer. What they didn't know was that they were going to be strapped to the hood of the car using a tow strap.  Lucky for the kids that someone saw them on the hood of the car and called 911. The man was able to drive three blocks before police stopped him. His reply to the police was that he thought the kids would enjoy the ride.
Yup, you guessed it, the man was DRUNK

WOULD YOU SIT IN A HOT CAR?

Would you sit in a hot car? Of course you wouldn't. So if you would not, why would you leave a baby in a car while you went shopping. A 18 year old father left his 4 month old daughter in his SUV  with the temperature outside at 105 degrees and the temperature inside the SUV was 119 degrees. Did this cause her death? Yes it did. She no longer breathes or moves. A life wasted because of some stupid 18 year old punk who pleaded NOT GUILTY. If not him then who. An autopsy show the child had third degree burns on her arms and legs.
What do you think. An eye for a eye?

WELCOME HOME JEREME!!!!!

It's been a long time but it finally came to an end yesterday, Fathers Day.  It could not have been a better present for him and his family.  He is home from a land where crazy bastards live. No more worrying about what is around the next corner.  This is how it should be for all of our men and women overseas. We are destroying our country to protect a country that doesn't give a rats ass about us. His company arrived at Fort Hood yesterday at 2:00 to a crowd of men, women and children waving signs of  "WELCOME HOME", tears, hugs and kisses.
Welcome home Jereme and enjoy the peace and quiet you have here.

WHAT DID YOU DO?

I can't speak for you reading this but the weather here was beautiful if you like HOT weather.  I went to my camper this weekend where the temp. was 98, 100 and Monday 98. Thank goodness for airconditioning in park models. In the mornings, before it got was the temp was around 75 so I could sit on the deck and enjoy my coffee, one or two cups and then the temp started to climb.
At the campground there are two swimming pools and a beach. All were packed to capacity.
Sunday was family day when my son and his family, daughter and her family came out to enjoy the day. Granddaughter came out on Saturday with two of her girlfriends who spent the night sat and sun.
The estimation on the number of people at the campground was around 7500 and you could tell, Golf carts and people walking everywhere. Some were filled to the gills both Saturday and Sunday with alcohol and of course some of these were the trouble makers.
Monday was pack up and go home day I have a Park Model so there was little packing up to do.
Hope all that read this had a wonderful weekend and also a safe one.

WHAT DID IT ACCOMPLISH

Did it accomplish anything? Was it worth all of the money spent on this this? Was it worth disrupting the entire city of Chicago? NO!!!!!!!
Streets were closed, stores were closed and there were restrictions on what commuters could bring on the buses and trains. Stores lost business and people could not walk down streets without being harassed by the police (which is a good thing). That is one job I'm glad I don't have. God Bless the police and the great job they did.
Like I said before, did it accomplish anything. What?  THE NATO SUMMIT. I have always looked at NATO as a useless organization for which the U.S picks up most of the tab, like now. If they want to play their little games that's OK but with it come the protesters and not all are peaceful, there are also trouble makes, losers with out jobs that hide in school pretending to love this country. 
Well anyway it is over today and these freeloaders will be going back to the own countries with thoughts of Chicago with it's beautiful skyline and buildings and eateries, if they got there. One thing these dignitaries should do when they leave is to take the protesters with them.
Now it's back to reality.

STAY OUT OF THE WOODS!

This happened in Union Township, Indiana. This incident involved three 11-year-old girls, one 11-year-old boy and two 12-year-old boys.
As the girls put it they were hanging around in the trail area near the Salt Creek Commons subdivision on Tuesday and were approached by the boys.
One girl said the boys got mad when she threw a chair into a creek and then one of the boys shot her in the leg with a BB gun.
Another boy grabbed the gun and began shooting at all of the girls. Two of the girls fell into the creek and the third was pushed into the creek.  The girls said that one of the boys shot at them when they tried to get out of the water.
The boys said that they were only JOKING when they told the girls that they could not get out of the water.
The result is that the boys were released to their parents. All three were charged with battery in juvenile court and one of the boys was charged with criminal confinement which is a felony.
This is another example of why KIDS should not be given BB guns at this young because  "FORGIVE THEM FATHER FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO", buy them a book to read, that is only if they know how to read.

ROSIE OPENS HER MOUTH AGAIN.

Rosie is now on the TODAY show on some sort of panel. She had some harsh words about Lindsay Lohan playing the part of Elizabeth Taylor. As we know, Rosie rarely has anything good to say about anyone. If I recall correctly didn't Rosie try getting into the acting field and that was a big flop for her career.
When are people going to realize that what she says will always be negative and that the money they are paying her comes out of her mouth and goes into thin air and doesn't mean a damn thing.

ROSIE, ROSIE, ROSIE.

Our girl Rosie O'Donnell is trying it again. Trying what? Trying to make it again on a tv talk show. She blew the one she had some years ago and just recently (God only knows why) Oprah chose her to move to Chicago and take over her show. How did that go? After a few months the audience size was reduced and people were laid off and as we all seen it coming her show was cancelled, she sold he recently bought million dollar home and moved to New York. On the news today it was announced that she is joining the TODAY show. Can't believe it. How long will she last there. I bet it won't be very long. I'm sorry but she is just not a likable person. NUFF said..

EASTER SUNDAY

I would like to  say HAPPY EASTER to all who read this posting.  Yes tomorrow is Easter. It is a religious holiday that remembers the rising again of Christ. But again through the years that meaning has all but disappeared only to be replaced buy the money hungry retailers with the sale of candies, furry stuffed animals, to say it in short it is a minnie Christmas with the Easter Bunny being shoved down our throats so the store owners can get richer and we giving the last of our pay to them.
Remember what this day is about with the thought of the bunny in the back of our minds. Enjoy the day by going to church with family, meeting and dining with friends and relatives. The is what it is all about.

PAPER MAKES MISTAKE!!

In my previous post I mentioned that a man driving drunk killed a man who was getting milk for his family.  I had stated that he was permitted to drive to work. I was a little upset.
In today's paper  it is said that the newspaper had made an error and that the real story was that the man CANNOT drive to work. He must find someone to drive him. THANK GOD! we don't need his type on the street. His driving privileges have been suspended. He is charged with 10 felony counts, six misdemeanor counts and two infractions in connection with the death of the 61 year old man.
The paper commented that they regret the error.
