The Bird!

Have you heard of the strange new goings on over at Payperpost? You know Payperpost, that's the company that pays you to blog. It's a great company, and from great companies--great things come about.

Recently Project Birdo Part I has come about, and with it comes amazing new opportunities for bloggers and advertisers alike. The most exciting is called Payperpost Direct, and for you advertisers it means getting more 'bang' for your advertiser buck--and for the bloggers like me-it means more money in my pocket.

On the advertising side, it's like Review Me in that you get to pick the particular blogs that carry your blog ads, but on the great side--instead of paying between 50% and 100% in fees to Review Me-the charge here is always just 10%. That means that if you would like to place a post on this blog--with a going rate of $8.00-it will cost you just $8.80 instead of the $12 or even $16 that Review Me will charge you. I told you it was amazing!

If you are interested in finding out more about this amazing new service-Payperpost has provided a very informative tutorial video, and for more in depth information, there is also a blog post on the Payperpost blog discussing all things "Birdo"!

If you would like a non-paid analysis of just what Payperpost Direct is--I would like to send you to Andy Beard's blog. His post is informative and unbiased, and it's a good read!

I hope to see you all soon, over on the new Payperpost Direct!

LET THE GAS FLOW

The other night I had a taste for a carmel molatte from Dairy Queen. Seeing that it is not within walking distance I drove which is OK. When I got there I was amazed at the number of cars in the parking lot were running while the driver was in the Dairy Queen to get treasures for his or her friend. With the gas prices the way they are, here is $3.67, I would think they would shut the motor off even though the person or persons in the car wanted to hear the radio or CD that was playing. Why should they lower the gas prices when there are fools like that who are not even attempting to save this liquid gold. Think first when you hear the words "leave the car on so I can hear this song".

In today's world everyone is looking for a good deal. I do believe that I have come accross one of the better deals around, if that is what you are looking for. WEEKEND OVER

Memorial Day has come and gone, all that is left are the memories, upset stomachs, sunburns sore muscles and hangovers. Excluding the rain on saturday and sunday morning it was a good weekend. The campground was extremley crowed, which is good for business. I felt sorry for the folks camping in tents on saturday night with the rain. There was no let-up.

I would like to say thank you to those who did damage to or mineature golf course, to those who ripped the doors off of the bathroom stalls and made jerks of themselves. This was done by the young ones who should have been on the campsite at 10:00 with mom and dad. Speaking of that, where were mom and dad or mom or dad depending on the case. The campground is not a place to let your teenagers or whatever run wild. Do our campground a favor. DON'T COME BACK. A special thanks to the kid who ran into my electrical box and did damage to it. Thank maintenance for their quick fix of the exposed wires.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

First of all HAVE A SAFE AND GOOD FUN FILLED MEMORIAL DAY. This is pig out weekend. At the campground is "hey stop for a bite to eat" or "hey stop for a drink" by drink I am refering to pepsi or coke. There are a lot of good eats around plus the carnival, bingo, wagon rides and horseshoes. I just hope it is a rainless weekend. I think we all can use this weekend to relax.
Well it's time to pack up the van, load up the dog and get the wheels turning toward the camper.
Ya'll take care.

THE STORM

Today we had one heck of a storm here. When I heard the sirens go off I turned my scanner on to see what was happening. The wind and rain was something else. In listening to the scanner I found out that there were trees blown over, electrical wires down, fires. lightning strikes, the whole nine yards. I must say to all the public servants in Schererville and surrounding towns, MY HAT IS OFF TO YOU. A JOB WELL DONE. These people had so much to do and so many places to cover, it was amazing how this got accomplished. The storm has gone and I can imagine the extra hours that have to be put in to get things back to normal. Once again JOB WELL DONE.

REPLY TO KAREN COMMENT

Karen this is a reply to your comment about Spencer the driver. He is certainly his own man. I could go on and on about his antics. He is a lovely boy that you can't help but love. His smile just melts your heart and his kindness and gentleness just wants you to hug him. More about Spencer in future blogs.

If this applies I want to wish you a very happy and wonderful Mothers day.

EATING OUT

Today I did a few things around the house and then went looking for flowers and hanging baskets to decorate my patio with. I must say that I like red, yellow and purple flowers. After going to two nurseries I decided that they were both too expensive.

After doing all that walking and looking I got hungry so I went to the arches for lunch. What an experience. When I walked in I almost fell on the floor. I don't know what they wash their floors with but is seems that it has an oil base and makes the floor slippery. I managed to get to the counter and placed my order. When the order came I gingerly walked (shuffled) to a table placed my tray down and shuffled to the soda dispensers to fill my cup. I also got ketchup at the same time so as not to jeopardize my life a second time. As I ate enjoying my meal, I guess they were making french fries, these awful beeping noises filled the air and eardrums. They just kept beeping, beeping, beeping and beeping until someone turned the dog gone things off. I must say that will be the last time I eat inside one of the arches. Just a reminded, was the floors with something else.

SPENCER THE DRIVER

My daughter, Lorri, in Texas called the other day and said that the kids had a bike rodeo at their school. This is where the police dept. sets up a course which the kids have to navigate. In this course there are stop signs, people, fire hydrants and a house. The kids are scored on how well they do. Well when my Lorri called she was laughing so hard she could hardly speak. When she calmed down she told me Spencer is never going to drive a car as long as she is alive. He got a 0 doing the rodeo. He knocked down the stop sign, ran over the people, ran into the fire hydrant and the building. Poor little guy felt bad about the 0, but things got worse. When he got home from school he continued riding his bike. He ran into the trampoline, the deck and fell down scraping his knee. After drawing blood Lorri thought it was time Spencer put his bike away, take his shower and finish off the day watching television. Hopefully things will get better with age.
