COSTUME CAULDRON IS WHERE IT'S AT

I hate to say this but Halloween is coming up fast. So fast as a metter of fact you may want to check out Costume Cauldron at http://www.costumecauldron.com/. See what they have to offer and then go to Wak-Mart and buy the same thing. Maybe. I checked out the adult costumes and what a bummer. They didn't have a Jack Dainels bottle costume. I made one, one year and everyone kept putting Jack Daniels down me. The evening was short and I didn't remember if I had a good time of not. In looking in the adult section at some of the costumes available, this company should be shut down and the owners arrested. is their name so don't forget it. Or maybe you should. They have everything you may need in the way of costumes and accessories. Makeup of any kind you can imagine. But remember, once you use the makeup they won't take it back because that thhe kind of people they are. They do have a return policy and they do not charge sales tax which is a savings in itself.
When I scanned the sexy costume section I came across two that I would like to buy and have my neighbors try on. One is the Eskimo Cuti and the other is the fishnet bodystocking with a V back. I'm sure you have different tastes but for now those are my favorites. If you know of a party where these will be worn, please call me and let me know.
Halloween parties can be fun, but with Halloween> costumes from Costume Cauldron can be even more fun and you may even be the talk of the party. When it comes time I will be ordering one from them and yes shipping is only $6.99. They not only have adult costumes, they have costumes for kids, teenagers, infants, toddlers and pets. Be sure to visit their website at http://www.costumecauldron.com/ and start looking to buy for Halloween.

GOING WESTERN (COWBOY)

As a child, which was a lo0000nnnnnggggg time ago my friends and I would love to play cowboys, good and bad. If course we all had cap guns with either one or two holsters hanging from our hips. Some of us even had a sheriffs badge to show we were on the side of the law. Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Hoot Gibson and the Lone Ranger we very popular then. You know, for the longest time I called the Lone Ranger the Long Ranger. Don't ask me why. Maybe my hearing was bad. So for the longest time I was playing out the part of the wrong guy. We even had authentic cowboy shirts with snap buttons and fringe and sometimes chaps. We were cool. In those days cool meant lower temperature. Well anyway that fad passed and it wasn't until years later that I once again put on cowboy shirts and boots and that was because I got into a teenage Country Western group called the Junior Jamboree. We did fairs and traveled through Wisconsin performing at various Lodges during the summer months. That lasted about two years and when the high school years ended so did the group. The reason I'm telling you all of this is because if you live in the city and really want to get western go to Tractor Supply. That will put you in the heart of the west. Saddles and farm equipment and anything else you might need, even the people shopping there and working there look as if they just came from Texas or Wyoming. My granddaughter who comes from Texas loves to go there. I see all the western boots and shirts and it brings back memories of good times. Well today they had shirts with snap buttons and country look and I weakened to the old days and bought one. Haven't put it on yet to see what it looks like but it is a good looking shirt. Who knows if it looks good I might go back and get a few more. They were on sale. Regular $23.00 for $10.00. Maybe next time I will be writing about a horse.

BIG WEEKEND

Coming this Saturday is the once a year event at the Yogi Bear campground where fortunes can be made and treasures can be found. Yes folks I am talking about the annual GARAGE SALE throughout the entire campground. You name it and I bet you can find it for sale on someones camp lot. The public is invited without having to know someone to get in. It will be a busy place and I am looking forward to it because I usually do pretty good at selling treasures that other people want. In short, if you have the time come on out and join in the fun at Yogi Bear in Plymouth, IN.

DOUBLE HEADER

Yes ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this is a double header weekend. I'm not talking about baseball I'm talking about Flag Day and Fathers Day. Forget about today being Friday the 13th, lets concentrate on the weekend. Number one. Flag day is a day to honor our flag, show it with pride and treat it with respect. Not only do we do that but it is the day I was born, June 14, 1940. That's right, that makes me a young 68 years old. That special day happens Saturday. And we all know what Sunday is, because the stores won't let us forget, money, money money, it is Fathers Day a day we honor them just like we did mom a few weeks ago. The reason I call it a double header is that I get presents on Saturday and Sunday. Not bad huh?

It's off to the camper today where I will spend this weekend with friends and family. To others who are celebrating their birthday tomorrow, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and to all the dads HAPPY FATHERS DAY. Enjoy.

THE CIRCUS

Yesterday, Monday, there was the Orak Shrine Circus at the Lake County Fairgrounds. Odd day to have a circus but then again the kids are out of school. There were free passes for the kids given out at school and in some stores. Two kids got in free with one paying adult. $14.00 for an adult ticket which is not bad and going to a good cause. The Shriner's. It was an overcast day and the performance was being held outdoors with us sitting on metal bleachers. About a half hour before the show it started raining. My two granddaughters and I were sitting on the top seat and fortunate to be sitting under the branch of a tree. The rain lasted about 15 minutes and stopped but it remained overcast which was a good thing because the sun would have been in our eyes.

Half hour before the show started the vendors were released to sell their wares. Remembering the faces of the vendors I discovered that these same people were performers on the trapeze, acrobatic acts and so on. But anyway with the selling of these items brought a large void in ones wallet. Snow cones $5.00, popcorn and cotton candy, nachos and hot dogs $3.00, balloons, drinks and programs $2.00. Elephant rides $8.00 and pony rides $6.00. Last but not least, on the way out, was the souvenir booth with the price of 2 stuffed elephants $15.00 each. Times all of the by 2 and it totals an expensive day but the expression on my granddaughters faces was priceless. The circus itself was a great show with a lot of flair and excitement and you could see that the performers put all they had into giving a good performance. There was one act I will never forget. It was a round cage in which held first, three motor bikes going around and around and ended with 6 going around and around at high speeds. Very good.

Should you ever get a chance to see the Orak Shrine Circus, do so. It will be a day well spent with the kids.

TIS THE SEASON

What a wonderful day, and yes ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls it is the season. The season for what you say. What else can it be but GARAGE SALE season. The dream of all who check the local newspapers on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to collect addresses of those wonderful people who go through the trouble of having a garage sale. From people looking to find antiques to people who are just curious to see what other people are selling to retired old men like myself who look for things to buy cheap and resell on EBay. At times can be quite profitable. Not only that but it's nice to get out and meet people. So in closing, I have checked the newspaper, showered and dressed and thought I would write this before I left to find my treasures. So to all of you who look forward to Thursday, Friday and Saturday garage sales, GOOD HUNTING.
