LADY ANDIES BIRTHDAY

This is March 31, 2007. I can also tell you that on this date in 1945, someone very special came into this world, and was named Andrea. God wanted her to live with him so on February 13, 2006 she was called home. Even though she is not here, I think it is a special day. This morning I bought some flowers and went to the cemetery and wished her a happy birthday. I also sang Happy Birthday to her. This may sound silly buy it is a way of helping me get past losing her, which I don't think I every will because she was something very special to me and others. I am sure for many of you out there you can relate to my feelings.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDIE!!!!!!!

SITTING DELANEY - DAY 5

This was the last day I had to sit for Delaney. She will go to school next week. Yesterday we were out the house early 11:30 and hit the first of the spring and summer garage sales. These are good places to find things for E-Bay. Didn't buy anything but it was nice to get out. After that we went to the cemetery to visit grandma (Andie). Said our hello's and Delaney said she was hungry, as always. We wound up going to McDonalds that has a indoor play ground. I can't complain because I was the one who suggested it, I also forgot is was spring break. Delaney was one of about 100 kids there. Talk about noise (this is a inside play ground). In spite of trying to keep tack of Delaney's whereabouts and the yelling and screaming, it was quite an experience as I am sure some of you grandparents know. One and a half hours later I convinced her we had to go home and let the dog out. The first thing out of her mouth when we got into the car was, can we go to the park. I did convince her that we should stay home because Julie was coming to get her soon. She settled for "SPONGE BOB" and that hideous laugh. I do say I do love her or else I would not do the things I do for her. Right grandma & pas?

GOING TO TEXAS

After listining to the weather report this morning I see where in the middle of next week the temperatures will be dropping. Well that is the sign for me, Julie and Delaney will be heading for Texas to celebrate Easter with my daughter Lorri and her family and also enjoy the warm weather. I will be blogging from there and telling of the magnificent and interesting things we will be doing or will have done.

NO RESPECT!!

Seeing that yesterday was a nice day and I was babysitting Delaney I thought she would enjoy going to the park. When I put that question to her, she had her shoes and jacket on in a flash. When we got there, there were other kids her age with their mothers. All the kids were playing nicely together. Also there were six older kids I'd say between the ages of 12 and 15 years old, three boys and three girls. Everyone was having a good time until the older kids started using foul language, both boys and girls. Without any respect for the smaller kids and the mothers it was a endless flow of words and also grabbing each other. After so long I went over to them and asked if they could stop because of the parents and smaller kids. There were giggles and laughs but they did stop and moved away. I don't know what their thoughts of me were and I don't care it was not proper. Why did they have to be told not to do that, did they think they were grown up doing that. I know that all kids are not like that because I've seen other groups of boys and girls who did not do that. God bless them for that. At least they showed respect for others.

COMMENT FROM KAREN

The is a reply to a comment from Karen: I am glad that you enjoy reading about my family and thank you for that. It is nice to hear about lasting relationships and I see yours is one as well. Your right, too many are thrown by the wayside too often and for really no reason. My wife and I celebrated 40 years 6 days after she had her stroke. More about that at a later time.

DELANEY - DAY 3

Today is Wensday the third day I am babysitting for Delaney. Really can't complain about days 1,2 and 3. She is really a good child but sometimes not by her mothers standards. The morning was filled with the irritating laugh of Sponge Bob and his pal Patrick, watching Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go. Thank goodness Mandy had an appointment for her body beautiful day. This gave us a chance to get out of the house and go to PetSmart where Mandy was getting her hair cut. We looked at all the birds, animals and fish then went to the video store to get some movies. I told Delaney she could pick out a movie. Yep, you guessed it, it was a Sponge Bob movie. So we went home to wait for the phone call to pick up Mandy and during that time I was able to hear that irritating laugh of my favorite cartoon character for more than one hour and forty five minutes. The call to pick Mandy up came at 5:15 and we went to get our new clean beautiful Mandy. When we got home Julie was here waiting for us. She stayed awhile and then it was time for me to go get my taxes prepared.
Much to my surprise after all of the figures were put in and the tally button was pushed, I AM GETTING MONEY BACK.
Until next time happy blogging.

THE DAY

I must get this off my chest. Unlike yesterday when the temperature was in the high 70's until it dropped in the afternoon, today started out cloudy and cold and will not get any better. I thought this was spring. I need warm weather, warm, warm, warm. Maybe I will get that next week when I go to Texas to see my daughter Lorri and her family for Easter with Julie and Delaney.

DELANEY -

Delaney arrived at my house at 7:15 a.m. and Julie put her down to fall back to sleep. I was awake but pretended to be sleeping because if she say I was awake she would not fall back to sleep. By her sleeping I was able to read the newspaper and work on the internet until she woke up which was 10:30 a.m.. The morning was hot so she ate breakfast of eggs and toast on the patio and I had a cup of coffee. She kept herself busy playing with dolls or coloring. In the afternoon, about 2, I asked if she wanted to take my dog Mandy for a walk around the lake, of course she said yes. We hooked Mandy to the leash, grabbed a couple of plastic bags to pick up any accidents and began our walk. It was such a beautiful day, a little cloudy by beautiful. Just before we got to the lake trail I heard thunder and the skies got darker. I said to Delaney that we had better go back and she said, I don't care if I get wet and I told her I did. So with a scowl on her face we headed back for home, thank goodness, for after 5 minutes there the skies opened up and the rain came down as well as the temperature falling about 30 degrees. The rest of the day was spent watching cartoon, Sponge Bob, and doing my hair. She was playing beautician, spraying my head with water and pretend curling what hair I have on the sides of my head. This was ok because it was keeping her busy. Julie showed up about 5:45, stayed for awhile and again left me to my peace and quiet.

MY LADY

In reference to a comment from Karen: The reason my blog is called "Lady Andie" is because she was very important to me. She was my wife for 40 years. This will keep her memory alive for all who read my blogs.
Thanks for asking. I will tell you more in a later blog.
