HOW WAS YOUR SHOPPING?

Shopping, shopping, shopping. I hate it but there are people who absolutly love to shop, shop, shop. Give them a excuse and they could shop 24/7. They live for Christmas shopping. The pushing, shoving and the crowds.

The busiest shopping day of the year is the day after Thanksgiving, properly named black friday. Stores open at 4, 5, or 6 a.m. with bargains that you would not believe. Lines start forming outside your favorite stores at 2 or 3 a.m. and on a cold morning one might wonder where are the washrooms. Inside the building which doesn't open for another two hours.

Did you know, I did, that there is a place you can shop on line in the comfort of your own home. Nice and warm, drinking a good cup of coffee and not having to worry about where to find a restroom. The place to shop from your home can be found at www.black-friday.net/. Here you can find all of your favorite stores and get a jump on the sale items offered by these stores. These stores offer special deals such as free shipping, and you know how much you can save with that. I have family in Texas and I order from http://www.jcpenny.com/ and have the gifts shipped directly to Texas. There my daughter wraps the gifts, saving me that chore. It's great.

Log onto www.black-friday.net/ and see all of the stores on their website. Click on you favorite store and check out the items that are on sale now. Enter your e-mail address with Black Friday and you will be notified of new ads as they become available. Just a few of the stores are Best Buy, CVS, COSTCO, Ace Hardware, Kohls and J C Penny.

Visit the Black Friday website, www.black-friday.net/ and do your shopping in comfort and get a jump on the other shoppers.

IT'S OVER

Yes it's over. The weekend I mean. I hope yours was a nice and restful as mine. I hope that wherever you were the weather was nice. So I guess this means that the summer activity season has started.
I spent the weekend at my camper in Plymouth, Indiana. Saturday was the big flea market where I was able to sell enough items to be able to pay the young man who cuts my grass. The amount I made covers two weeks of cutting. $12.00 per cut. The flea market ended at 12:00 and the rest of the day was spent laying around and visiting with friends. Weather was in the upper to lower 70's. In the evening as usual we gathered around the camp fire for informative, useless conversation that kept us laughing for hours. Around 12:00 midnight we all retired and I was asleep in about 10 minutes since I was up a 5 in the morning to do the flea market and got to the pavilion to assure myself a few tables.
Sunday slept in late. When I did get up I enjoyed a few cups of coffee on my deck which overlooks the lake. It was there that I sat in the rocking chair with my coffee and dozed off for awhile. Again the weather was nice, no rain, and in the the mid to high 70's
None of my family came out so I had a quiet weekend alone.
Monday was also nice. Weather was warm and again I spent time relaxing on the deck watching people fish at the lake and the many people who walked and rode by my lot. My camper is located on a corner lot so I see a lot of people. It's like a constant parade which I like because I am a people watcher. Around 4 I decided it was time to head for home, and that is what I did.
I hope your weekend was a nice as mine.

IT'S HERE

It's here folks. The daddy of the summer season, although it is not summer yet. The official opening of the camping season. This weekend, said to be in the 80's, will bring many families together to share food, drink and sun burns. BBQ smells will be in the air and their tastes will be like no other. Some delicious and some burnt and uneatable. But it will still be BBQ.
At the Yogi Bear Camp Resort where my camper is, will be full of seasoned and first time campers and of course there will not be a lack of children running around. Yogi has many planned activities for the kids to keep them happy and hopefully out of trouble and security will be at it's highest.
There will be a huge flea market on Saturday from 8 to 12. In order to get a few tables I will have to get to the pavilion at about 5:30 a.m.. I usually fill up about 4 picnic tables with the treasures that I will attempt to sell, everything from toys, clothes and home furnishings. I is supposed to be sunny and in the high 70's and this will bring out the crowds.
After the flea market I will probably take a short nap and take a golf cart ride to see what is going on. In the evening of course there will be a fire where the group of 15+ friends will gather to talk, laugh and eat. Looking forward to that.
I want to wish all of you who are traveling over the weekend a safe trip. Remember to have a designated drive if you are drinking anything other than Pepsi. Have a great holiday.

MAKING PRETTY

Yesterday was a beautiful day. Lots of sunshine and warm temperatures. Sitting on the patio enjoying my cup of coffee I said to myself, today it a day to plant flowers and spruce up the patio containers.
After a quick shave I got dressed and headed out to find some beautiful flowers. I went to Lowe's where I got some nice flowers last year and this year their selection of flowers did not disappoint me. I bought new containers to replace the ugly cracked ones I have now. My selection this year are hanging baskets of petunia's for the front and back of the house, geranium's, three will go into three of the new containers and those will lead to my front door, vinca's and marigolds which will fill the containers on the patio along with two geranium's. One flower I could not forget are daisies. These were my wife's favorite and if I didn't get some she would come to haunt me. Her favorite color's were red and yellow and that is what I got.
After the planting was complete and the patio swept, I got myself a cup of coffee, sat at the table outside and admired my handy work and am now ready to enjoy the summer. Living in a town home I don't have to cut grass so I will enjoy the summer even more.
My wife must have approved because as I sat there a cool breeze came and went. Do you think it was her saying good job?

WHICH IS BETTER??

Today was one of those days when you just can't decide what to have for dinner. The choices were many but nothing appealed to me. Last week we were at the Old Country Buffet where they have a good selection to chose from. Great chicken and mashed potatoes. The only drawback there was there is not a good choice of sugar free deserts. You also get your plate up at the food line which is a good thing because you don't have to wait for the server to bring you a clean plate. You get your own drink refills and don't have to wait for a server to ask if you need a refill.

The second choice was the Golden Coral. This is another buffet restaurant that functions a little differently. You get your plate when you pay at the register. You also get your drink and eating utensils there. I think that the food is equal, but the deserts and far better with a large selection of sugar free deserts. Being diabetic I look for that. I also found the Golden Coral to be a little loud because of all the kids there, this is my second time here and it was the same the first time.
You have to get your new plate from the server and also drink refills.

Having to chose between the two, I think I would have to go with Old Country Buffet.

WISHING I COULD

I wish I could have gone to the camper but it is such a nasty day, cold and rainy. It would not have been any fun just sitting inside.

I wish my mother was still here and I could buy her flowers, a gift, put my arms around her and kiss her on the cheek and wish her a Happy Mothers Day. I can't. All I can do is put flowers on her grave.

I wish my wife was still here and I could buy her flowers, a gift, put my arms around her, kiss her and wish her a Happy Mothers Day. The gift probably would have been a ring with diamonds in it. That was her favorite gift. I can't. All I can do is put flowers on her grave.

I wish all mothers a Happy Mothers Day. In most cases you should be treated like a Queen today and it shouldn't stop there. This day should continue throughout your lifetime. Have a good day.

CHEAP HEART MED FOR ANIMALS AT WAL-MART

Something that I learned today which was passed on to me by a friend of my daughters. She has a dog with a heart problem and for the longest time she was paying the vet big bucks for heart medicine for her dog. Then she found out that Wal-mart will fill the prescription for $4.00. So I called Wal-Mart and asked because my dog is on Prednisone and I was told that, human or animal, if it is a heart med they will fill it. For the life of me I don't remember what it cost me at the vet nor can I find a receipt but regardless, at Wal-Mart 60 tablets is only $5.63 and I know that is less that what I paid at the vet. Look into it you might be able to save yourself some money. Just thought I would pass this on.
